Campaigning in District 5

When I decided to run for the Kansas Board of Education District 5 position, I didn't think deeply about what running for an office in such a large geographical region would actually entail. All I really knew is that I was passionate about public education, and I had the background, experience and knowledge that would make me a well-qualified representative for our District 5 kids and schools.

I started slowly, meeting nearby superientendents and school boards, but now I am traveling farther and farther. I have attended a number of meet and greet type events that were organized by Democratic County Chairs as well. As I travel, I get to see so much more of Kansas than I might have otherwise. It's quite exciting! I have been welcomed, asked good questions and had great conversations about what we need and want for our schools so that our kids will get the best possible education.

These meet ups are invaluable to me as a candidate for the KSBE District 5 position, but more importantly, I want them to be invaluable to you.
